Who We Support

Every month Local Box SK strives to have a charity or community outreach program that we help raise money and funds for. For the month of August we have chosen Whitmore Park Child Care Co-operative!

Whitmore Park Child Care Co-operative is a nonprofit child care centre that also has charity designation. We offer care for children ages eighteen months to five years as well as a before and after school program located next door to the centre. The centre is overseen by a volunteer board of directors who work in conjunction with the executive director to ensure the centre meets our communities child care needs. Our program is based on our early learning philosophy.

Whitmore Park Child Care Co-operative (WPCCC) is seen as a complement and an extension to the family unit and the home environment, fostering growth, while providing a nurturing and supportive environment. Communication, cooperation, mutual respect and support are essential to the well-being of the child, family, employees and all those involved in Centre life. Children learn through play, and through interacting with their world.  The Centre strives to provide a rich balance of new experiences and learning opportunities, combined with the nurturing and guidance needed to explore this remarkable world.

Whimore Park Child Care Co-operative relies on community fundraising and outreaches to help keep their costs as low as possible for the parents, making their centre have easier to access for families in their area. For more information you can visit their website here.
